A Country Rebuilding. An Opportunity Recognized.
After the NATO intervention in Kosovo, international organizations and private companies flooded in to reconstruct and rebuild the country. Among the many young Kosovars employed by these organizations was the future founder of EnvriCon β gaining firsthand exposure to how large-scale institutions manage environmental compliance, waste, and hazardous materials.
What became clear quickly was a critical gap: Kosovo had no waste treatment facilities, no landfills, no recycling infrastructure, and no local companies providing these services. The field was essentially empty.
"Most hazardous waste was transported abroad for disposal β inefficient, expensive, and unsustainable for a country trying to rebuild itself."
EnvriCon β Built to Fill the Void.
After years of experience working alongside international organizations, the decision was made: it was time to create a local company that could provide these services from within Kosovo, with Kosovo-based staff and expertise.
EnvriCon Sh.p.k was founded in 2006 as a privately owned, Kosovo-based company β supported by internationally trained and experienced staff. From day one, the mission was to provide consulting, engineering, and disposal services across all fields of environmental protection, for international organizations, public institutions, and industrial clients.
